IMPSM FE UST Hosts an Internasional Sharing Session on the Theme “Global Culture And Local Identity: A Cross-Cultural Comparison Of Indonesian And Philipines”

Yogyakarta – The Management Study Program Student Association (IMPSM) of the Faculty of Economics at Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University held an International Sharing Session with the theme “Global Culture and Local Identity: A Cross-Cultural Comparison of Indonesia and the Philippines.” The event took
place on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in the Ki Hadjar Dewantara Room. It was organized as part of the association’s work program to enhance international awareness, expand academic networks, and promote the importance of cross-cultural understanding among students and the general public.
The event proceeded smoothly according to the planned agenda. It began with participant registration, followed by opening remarks from the emcee, the singing of the national anthem “Indonesia Raya,” a prayer, and welcoming remarks from the Chair of the Organizing Committee, the Chair of the Management Study Program Student Association at the Faculty of Economics, Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University, and a representative from the Management Study Program at the Faculty of Economics. Following the opening session, the event continued with presentations by speakers from Indonesia and the Philippines, An Indonesian speaker named Fabian Arsen Muhammad, The Filipino speakers are Angelica Rose Tabisola and Jannah Marice Alejandro. who discussed cultural diversity, values of community life, educational systems, cross-cultural communication, and experiences in building relationships and collaborations in an international setting.
This event was attended by approximately 120 participants, including students from Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University as well as participants from outside the university. All participants took part in the series of activities in an orderly manner and showed great enthusiasm throughout the event. This was evident in their active participation in the discussion sessions and Q&A.
