Yogyakarta, August 28, 2024 - In an effort to improve the quality of education and achieve international accreditation, the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa (FE UST) conducted a benchmarking activity to the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM). This activity is an important moment for FE UST to learn directly from one of the best higher education institutions in Indonesia that has successfully gained global recognition through international accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
This activity took place in the Kertanegara Room, 2nd floor of the east wing of FEB UGM, and was attended by 15 representatives from FE UST consisting of lecturers, study program leaders, and quality assurance teams. With the theme “International Accreditation and Implementation of Measurement of Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL)”, this event focused on internationalization strategies, curriculum development, and sustainable education quality assurance.
Dr. Suyanto, S.E., M.Si., Dean of FE UST, stated that this activity was a concrete step in strengthening the competitiveness of FE UST at the national and international levels. “We are very enthusiastic to learn the best practices that have been implemented by FEB UGM, especially in terms of international accreditation and competency-based curriculum development,” he said.
FEB UGM, known as a pioneer in economics education in Indonesia, shared their experiences on their journey to achieve AACSB accreditation, including challenges faced and strategies to maintain the international standard. The interactive discussion also covered other important topics, such as how FEB UGM aligns their vision and mission with the study program, as well as the important role of alumni in supporting academic and non-academic activities.

Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., Vice Dean of FEB UGM, said, “We are very happy to share our experience with FE UST. We hope this collaboration will continue and provide benefits for both institutions, especially in creating graduates who are ready to compete at the global level.”
This activity is also a forum for FE UST to explore the potential for further cooperation with FEB UGM, both in the fields of curriculum development, student exchange programs, and joint research. Positive Impact for the Future of FE UST, namely the benchmarking activity is expected to be a stepping stone for FE UST in preparing for the international accreditation process. By applying the best practices learned from FEB UGM, FE UST is committed to improving educational quality standards, strengthening international networks, and producing graduates who are not only competent, but also ready to face global challenges.
